Gum Diseases: They Are Preventable And Curable by Edward Green The human body is a complex mechanism. We have to take care of it all the time to remain healthy. Like other parts in our body, our teeth and gum also need to be healthy all the time for our body to function well. It has to be cleaned everyday, and treated well. We have to take precautions so that no diseases attack them.

That is why we have to brush our teeth twice everyday, floss and wash our mouth properly after every meal.If we don't keep our teeth and mouth clean all the time, this is what happens. There are bacteria in our body. The bacteria in our mouth, along with other substances like mucus form a colorless sticky substance

that we call plaque. These plaques are formed around our teeth. Cleaning our teeth and mouth regularly prevents these plaques to form in any dangerous level. If we don't keep it clean, the plaque can turn hard. When that happens, it will be difficult to get it out by just brushing our teeth.

The hardened plaque is called 'tarter' and that tarter becomes more harmful if you don't get it cleaned by dental medical practitioners in time. The tarter thus formed will make our gums swell. The inflammation in called 'gingivitis'. The inflamed gum will even bleed easily. If we don't get it treated even at this point, it will lead to periodontitis. The gum will loosen up causing the tooth to fall. It will harm other bone in the mouth and tissues surrounding the gum.It is therefore very important to identify the gum diseases in time to prevent it, or cure it.Click here for the rest.
